David M. Spindel photographs and posters 1989-1996

The David M. Spindel photographs and posters consist of creations made by the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) alum. Most of the materials focus on baseball memorabilia including a collage of New York Yankees, New York Mets, and Brooklyn Dodgers objects. There are also images that center on single players such as Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Paul Rizzuto, Duke Snider, Roberto Clemente, and Pete Rose. Most items in the collection are signed by Spindel.The collection also includes a photographic print of John Lennon and a poster that highlights some of Spindel's rebuses. Creations of David M. It is unclear when the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) first admitted minority students. However, it appears as though the first African American students entered the Rochester Athenaeum and Mechanics Institute (renamed RIT in 1944) during the early 1900s.
